AB 553: CalFresh- Expanding Food Access
AB 553 is a technical cleanup to AB 712, which required the CDSS to request a federal waiver to provide permanent hot food access to CalFresh recipients, to remove the reference to the federal waiver that CDSS requested but was not granted. Additionally, this bill will continue supporting the CDSS’s efforts to provide hot food access during federally declared disasters and public health emergencies.

This change would create a safety net, ensuring the Program remains available even when General Fund support is limited. By removing financial barriers between state agencies, AB 616 helps preserve and expand equitable access to California’s state parks through public libraries. AB 672: Safeguarding Workers' Rights- Public Employees
AB 672 would require public employers to notify PERB if they file a court action involving the statutes PERB administers. It would also give PERB the right to intervene as a party in those instances to help maintain the consistent application and enforcement of public employee protections. Lastly, to protect the rights of trial court employees, AB 672 prevents a conflict of interest by requiring the assignment of outside judges to hear trial court employer requests for injunctive relief.
