Communications and Conveyance

Jurisdiction: Broadband, Cable, Digital Infrastructure and Video, Competition Act, Charter party carriers, Commercial air operators, Supplier diversity related to CPUC, regulated telecommunications, Telecommunications, Transportation Network Companies.

Health

Jurisdiction: Health care, health insurance, Medi-Cal and other health care programs, mental health licensing of health and health-related professionals, and long-term health care facilities.

Housing and Community Development

Jurisdiction: Building standards, common interest developments, eminent domain, farm worker housing, homeless programs, housing discrimination, housing finance (including redevelopment), housing, natural disaster assistance and preparedness, land use planning, mobile homes/manufactured housing, redevelopment: housing, and rent control.

Caucuses

California Asian & Pacific Islander (API) Legislative Caucus

The California Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus represents and advocates for the interests of the diverse API communities throughout California. It seeks to increase Asian Pacific Islander participation and representation in all levels of government.

California Legislative Women's Caucus

The Legislative Women's Caucus represents and advocates on behalf of the diverse interests of women, children and families throughout California and seeks to increase participation and representation of women in state government. 

Priorities: Workplace & Economic Equity, Healthcare & Health Equity, Childcare & Education Equity, Addressing Poverty, Gender Violence & Public Safety, and Vulnerable Communities.

Boards

State Public Works Board, Member

In February 2025, Speaker Rivas appointed Assemblymember Jessica Caloza to the State Public Works Board. 

The State Public Works Board was created by the Legislature to oversee the fiscal matters associated with construction of projects for state agencies, and to select and acquire real property for state facilities and programs. The Board is also the issuer of lease-revenue bonds, which is a form of long term financing that is used to pay for capital projects.
