SACRAMENTO, CA - Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) announced that Dr. Barbara Ferrer was named the 2022 Woman of the Year for the 51st Assembly District. The Woman of the Year distinction highlights the achievements of trailblazing women throughout California during Women’s History Month.

AB 634 – Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo’s Long Term Affordable Housing Supply Bill – Reaches Governor Newsom’s Desk

(Sacramento, CA) – Both the Senate and Assembly have voted to send Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo’s (AD-51, Los Angeles) AB 634 to Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk. AB 634 shores up the availability of affordable housing units by allowing a local government to require an affordability period longer than 55 years for units that qualify a developer for a density bonus, if the local government has an inclusionary housing ordinance that requires a percentage of residential units affordable to lower-income households for longer than 55 years.

AB 794 directs the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to develop workforce standards that trucking companies must meet if they want state incentives for buying low emission vehicles

AB 480 – Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo’s Bill To Address Potential Environmental and Public Health Threats – Reaches Governor Newsom’s Desk

(Sacramento, CA) – Both the Senate and Assembly have voted to send Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo’s (AD-51, Los Angeles) AB 480 to Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk. AB 480 would give local county regulators the power to access facilities for inspections, and in some cases, temporarily shut them down, to address industrial accidents, or other potential sources of harm to public health and the environment.

AB 462 – Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo’s Bill to Expand the Pipeline of Mental Health Professionals – Reaches Governor Newsom’s Desk

(Sacramento, CA) – Both the Senate and Assembly have voted to send Assemblywoman Wendy Carrillo’s (AD-51, Los Angeles) AB 462 to Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk. AB 462 removes the unnecessary requirement that California’s Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCCs) complete additional coursework and training hours to work with couples and families – work that they are already well prepared for after completing all of the requirements for licensure.
