The CalEITC helps our families and communities!

Dear Neighbor,

We are excited to celebrate #CalEITC Awareness Week from Jan 27 to Feb 2, 2024. This tax credit does so much for families and communities. Without it, 840,000 more Californians (including 376,000 children) would be in poverty. #OurEITC

Dear Neighbor,

Last week, California Governor Gavin Newsom presented his $291.5 billion budget proposal, while looking to address a $37.9 billion shortfall identified by his administration. His proposed budget continues to uphold commitments toward addressing our homelessness crisis, investing in mental health, keeping our state safe, and more. However, it also pulls from our reserves, while calling for immediate actions to defer investments and reduce spending for various items to offset our deficit.

Dear Neighbor,

Our state is home to 4.2 million small businesses, which employ more than 7 million people and account for over 99% of total businesses in the state. Los Angeles County has more than 1.3 million small businesses, with more minority and women-owned businesses than any other county in the nation.

We want to recognize the importance of our locally owned small businesses and their contributions to our community. To do so, we need your help!

Dear Neighbor –

I hope that you and yours had a wonderful holiday season, and I wish you prosperity, abundance, and lots of laughter as we head into 2024.

Dear Neighbor,

With heartfelt warmth, I extend my best wishes to you and your loved ones for a wonderful Holiday season. As we gather with family, friends and loved ones, let us rejoice in the spirit of joy and compassion. I am grateful for so many blessings, and your kindness, and I am so honored to represent our beautiful communities and the wonderful state of California.

Through our state budget process, my office successfully secured $500,000 in funds for the Latino Film Institute (LFI) for the Youth Cinema Project (YCP), a signature program for our youth in grades 5 through 12 to not only learn the art of filmmaking but to engage deeply with academic standards and essential life skills, like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. This initiative, at its core, aligns with our objective to empower youth, inspire creativity, and bridge cultural and educational gaps, particularly in underserved and low-income communities facing challenges in resources and language.

Dear Neighbor,

Please join me, your friends, and your neighbors for a casual conversation over coffee. This gathering is an opportunity to share your thoughts on community and legislative matters important to you and for you to bring any questions regarding state issues that may affect you. In addition, find out what is happening in the district and the services my office can provide.

Dear Neighbor –

Sending you and your loved ones our warmest greetings ahead of the upcoming holidays. With next year’s legislative session fast approaching, I would like to extend an invitation for you to visit my District Office to learn about state services readily available or answer any questions regarding a state matter of interest to you.

Dear Neighbor,

Through our state budget process, my office was successful in securing $4 Million in funds to enhance vital services in Los Angeles. This includes $2 million for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) to further healthcare research and significantly expand its Division of Young Adult and Adolescent Medicine.  In addition, we secured a  $2 million investment in the L.A. Welcomes Collective, which will substantially aid in providing shelter and legal services to immigrant individuals in Los Angeles County.
