Dear Neighbor,

Very happy to announce that several important pieces of legislation have moved forward from the Assembly and will now be moving through the Senate. We’re very proud of our work on behalf of our communities and the people of California. This is only a partial list of our legislative package, take a look below:

Housing and Homelessness

Dear neighbor,

Individuals experiencing homelessness or domestic violence often are denied shelter if they don’t surrender their pets. When pets are surrendered, less than 15% are reunited, furthering depression and anxiety among our most vulnerable.

Dear neighbor,

It is my pleasure to invite all community members involved in non-profit organizations operating in Assembly District 52 to join my office for a town hall and panel discussion. This event will provide non-profit organizations with an excellent opportunity to learn about the state resources available to support community initiatives across our district.

Through the discussions, we will provide an opportunity for community-based organizations to network and share ideas. Details and RSVP below:

DATE: June 9, 2023 from

TIME: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dear friends,

As Mother's Day nears, we take time to recognize and celebrate the tireless efforts and immeasurable contributions of mothers everywhere. We acknowledge the love, care, and support that mothers provide for their families and communities every day. I am especially grateful to my own mother who inspires me each and every day.

Dear friend,

On May 20, 2023, the 100 Acre Partnership will host its first-ever tree adoption event in Los Angeles, providing LA residents with FREE trees to bring more shade and greenery to our neighborhoods.

Dear friend,

Are you looking for a way to save for your child's future? Now is the perfect time to start! From now through April 30, 2023, when an eligible student participates in the CalKIDS Program and links a ScholarShare 529 account to their CalKIDS account, they will be given an additional $50 in their CalKIDS account.

Dear Friend,

Today, we mark the 108th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, a crime against humanity that caused everlasting pain and trauma worldwide. Assembly District 52 includes the City of Glendale and is home to an Armenian-American diaspora.

Dear Friend,

I am pleased to announce the Biden-Harris Administration is making available $1 billion in grants to increase equitable access to trees and green spaces in urban and community forests, bringing vital federal resources to urban communities like ours.

Dear friend,

With so many in our community still facing severe economic challenges as a result of being displaced or evacuated by this year’s winter storms, power outages, and flooding, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended the ability to use SNAP benefits to purchase HOT foods and foods intended to be consumed on retailer premises.

Hot foods may now be purchased with SNAP EBT benefits through May 2, 2023, are considered SNAP eligible during this period and NOT subject to sales tax.

Dear friend,

With this year’s legislative cycle well underway, my office has partnered with conservation organizations and advocates across the state to address the unfortunate damages that abandoned oil wells continue to have today in California. When their original operators do not assume responsibility for their cleanup, Californians like you foot the bill.
