"The 51st Assembly District is home to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Before he left us, the great Tommy Lasorda said, 'When I die, I want my wife to put the Dodgers home schedule on my tombstone, so people can come and find out if the Dodgers are playing home or on the road... I love this organization so much I want to be working for it even after I’m dead... That's pride.' On this day, we honor the work, commitment and love of the game of a legend; a Hall of Fame Manager and champion of the game of baseball, who gave us more joy in celebrating America’s National Pastime than any other person in our lifetime. Rest easy, Coach, our condolences go out to your family, friends, and loved ones. We, all of us, Dodger fans, and even our frenemies from multi-generational team rivalries, honor and celebrate you on this day that we adjourn in your name."
