AB 480 – Protecting Public Health from Hazardous Substances – Allows a local authority to take immediate action against local threats to the public’s health and safety, including the ability for local jurisdictions to direct a facility or a portion of a facility to temporarily discontinue the operations that caused an exposure. AB 634 – Long Term Housing Affordability – Ensures longer-term affordability on new housing developments by extending the affordability term for future housing. Chaptered by Secretary of State - Chapter 348, Statutes of 2021.
AB 748 – Youth Mental Health Posters – Requires public schools serving pupils in any of grades 6 to 12 to create a poster that identifies approaches and shares resources regarding pupil mental health. Chaptered by Secretary of State - Chapter 431, Statutes of 2022.
AB 794 – Climate Jobs and Equity Act of 2021 – Ensures California meets its climate goals while using public funds to support good job creation in communities of color. This bill allows the California Air Resources Board the authority to condition eligibility grants, loan or incentive programs for the manufacturers or fleet purchasers of clean vehicles meeting compliance with labor laws, high-road workplace standards, and creation of jobs. AB 1276 – Reduce Unnecessary Food Service Ware – Builds on California’s existing efforts to combat waste from single-use items, by requiring that food and beverage accessories are provided to customers upon request, and requiring reusable food service ware for specified on-site dining. AB 1362 – Agricultural Inspectors – Provides essential workers needed flexibility by ensuring that there is a pathway to full-time employment for employees working under an associate inspector classification in county agricultural departments. AB 1383 – Community Colleges: Administrative Leave – Provides employers with more time to conduct thorough personnel investigations and specifies that the 90 days they have to conduct an investigation should be “working days” and excludes weekends and holidays. AB 2057 – Supply Chain Resilience Act – Requires the California State Transportation Agency to collect and consolidate data related to goods movement in the transportation supply chain. Chaptered by Secretary of State - Chapter 458, Statutes of 2022.
AB 2059 – Hazardous Materials Record Keeping – Requires an entity that supplies specified quantities of hazardous materials to a business in the state to maintain records of sales for at least one year and provide such records to a Certified Unified Program Agency within five days of a request. AB 2129 – Employment Development Department: Recession Plan – Requires the Employment Development Department to report on the status of its actions to implement recommendations contained in the recession plan previously submitted to the Legislature. AB 2143 – Solar Projects Prevailing Wage and Community Inclusion – Requires prevailing wage for large solar projects that receive Net Energy Metering and would require the Public Utilities Commission to annually report on the progress of rooftop solar adoption, by Census Tract and Zip Code, for the purpose of identifying and addressing disparities that exist between communities in accessing the benefits of this energy source. AB 2205 - Disclosure Requirement for Abortion Premiums – Requires a health care service plan or health insurer offering qualified health plans, to annually report the total amount of funds in the segregated account maintained, pursuant to the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. It also requires the annual report to include the ending balance of the account and the total dollar amount of claims paid during a reporting year. AB 2329 – Opt-In for Vision Services – Streamlines access to vision exams for California students by automatically opting them in, and allowing school districts to utilize nonprofit vision providers to administer exams and provide glasses more easily. AB 2413 – Classified School Employees – Allows a classified school employee who is not subject to binding arbitration in their collective bargaining agreement to retain paid status during a personnel investigation appeal, if there is not clear and convincing evidence of the alleged infraction. AB 2737 – New Drayage and Short-Haul Trucks: Incentive Programs – Excludes a rental or leasing entity from the definition of a fleet purchaser for eligibility to participate in incentive programs to purchase new drayage or short-haul trucks. It also requires a rental or leasing entity that purchases vehicles for use in fleet operations using an incentive program to notify lessees with lease terms greater than one year that they are required to comply with the labor standards applicable to fleet purchasers. HR 127 – 52nd Anniversary of the Chicano Moratorium – Recognizes August 29, 2022, as the 52nd Anniversary of the Chicano Moratorium and encourages all Californians to join in commemorating this historic event. Adopted by the State Assembly.

AB 2665 – Equity in Family Services Intervention – Would address racial disparities in the child welfare system by utilizing a blind removal strategy that redacts information from the case summary, in order to eliminate implicit bias in the decision-making process determining whether children are removed from their parents’ home.

AB 443 – Physicians and Surgeons – Would expands a current program that allows the Medical Board to grant special permits to visiting international medical graduates, to allow them to train and provide care under the supervision of a board-certified physician within a California federally qualified health center located in a rural or underserved community.
AB 470 – Medi-Cal Eligibility – Would allow low-income seniors and people with disabilities, who are most at risk of COVID-19, to access much-needed health care services while maintaining their dignity and financial stability by eliminating the outdated Medi-Cal Asset Test.
AB 548 – Unemployment Compensation Benefits – Would eliminate burdensome interest rates charged for Unemployment Insurance overpayments and modify the immediate recovery of alleged overpayments that often lead families to significant debt, homelessness and total destitution.
AB 573 – Youth Mental Health Boards – Would provide an opportunity for young people to better advocate for quality and effective mental health programs by establishing the California Youth Mental Health Board and requiring each community mental health service to have a local youth advisory board.
AB 906 – Zero-Emission Truck Lease Fee Exemption – Would spur market development and adoption in the zero-emission trucking sector by exempting a lease that includes specified components from applicable taxes and fees.
AB 937 – The Voiding Inequality and Seeking Inclusion for Our Immigrant Neighbors (VISION) Act – Would protect individuals deemed eligible for release from jails and prisons from facing additional punishment in the immigration detention system by prohibiting transfers to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) without a federal warrant.
AB 1007 – Forced Sterilization Compensation Program – Would rightfully compensate people who were involuntarily sterilized under California’s previous eugenics law and in women’s state prisons after 1979, by creating the Forced Sterilization Compensation Program.
AB 1112 – Before and After School Programs – Would prioritizes support for students and families that are most at need by authorizing a data and stakeholder driven process that stabilizes publicly funded afterschool and summer programs.
AB 1179 – Employer Provided Backup Childcare – Would prioritizes support for hard-working parents and protects children by requiring companies with 1,000 or more employees to provide backup child care as a direct benefit for their employees.
AB 1435 – Noncannabis Cannabinoids – Would protect consumers by requiring laboratory testing of finished noncannabis cannabinoid products and would create parity in taxation of noncannabis cannabinoid products with legal cannabis, with the additional funds raised going to support youth, social justice, and environmental programs.
AB 1486 – California Environmental Quality Act: Housing – Would reduce duplicative environmental review and opportunities for litigation that delay the construction of desperately needed new housing by creating a more expeditious and cost-effective process for local jurisdictions to comply with California housing law.
AB 2100 – CalFresh: Restaurant Meals Program – Would require the California Department of Social Services to request a federal waiver to allow all CalFresh recipients to purchase hot prepared food at the grocery store.
AB 2276 – Dental Assistants – Would expand the scope of work for dental assistants that have completed a course on the respective procedure and a course on infection control to perform coronal polishing and apply sealants, creating more opportunities for recruiting and hiring Dental Assistants.
AB 2290 – Unlawful Detainer – Would ensure that individuals who were eligible for, sought out, and did not receive rent relief support during COVID-19 due to government inefficiency or backlog would not receive an eviction listed on their permanent record. Additionally, this bill would protect tenants currently litigated against in court by requiring sealing of their records.
AB 2501 – Before and After School Programs – Would set guidelines and commit funding to collect data and engage departments, practitioners, and stakeholders for the purpose of addressing expanded learning implementation challenges and to develop a roadmap for achieving universal access to afterschool and summer learning programs that meet California’s quality standards.
AB 2606 – Cat Declawing Procedures – Would protect animals from the risk of pain and life-long complications associated with elective declawing by prohibiting the procedure unless it is for a specified therapeutic purpose.
