Red Ribbon Week: Empowering Our Kids for a Drug-Free Future!

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

I hope this message finds you and your family in good health and high spirits. As the academic year progresses, it is important that we stay informed about the current conditions for schools in California. With that in mind, I want to bring your attention to an essential event that aims to promote a healthy and drug-free lifestyle for our children: Red Ribbon Week.

RED RIBBON WEEK, observed annually from October 23 to 31, stands as the nation's oldest and most significant drug prevention awareness program. In California, the significance of this event is even more pronounced, as the state legislature enacted House Resolution 53 (HR 53), which I co-authored, to commemorate our firm commitment to living drug-free lives.

For those of you with children in Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, I invite them to participate in the DEA Red Ribbon Patch Program. By doing so, they can earn a patch towards their respective goals while actively contributing to a worthy cause.

Please remember that my commitment to being available for anything state government-related remains steadfast. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out.

Together, let's build a strong and drug-free future for our children. Take the pledge and let your voices be heard during this significant Red Ribbon Week.

Semana del Listón Rojo: ¡Empoderando a nuestros niños para un futuro libre de drogas!

Estimados padres y cuidadores,

Espero que este mensaje los encuentre a usted y a su familia con buena salud y buen humor. A medida que avanza el año académico, es importante que nos mantengamos informados sobre las condiciones actuales de las escuelas en California. Con eso en mente, quiero llamar su atención sobre un evento esencial que tiene como objetivo promover un estilo de vida saludable y libre de drogas para nuestros niños: la Semana del Listón Rojo.

LA SEMANA DEL LISTÓN ROJO, que se celebra anualmente del 23 al 31 de octubre, se erige como el programa de concientización sobre prevención de drogas más antiguo e importante del país. En California, la importancia de este evento es aún más pronunciada, ya que la legislatura estatal promulgó la Resolución 53 de la Cámara (HR 53), de la que soy coautor, para conmemorar nuestro firme compromiso de vivir una vida libre de drogas.

Para aquellos de ustedes con niños en Boy Scouts o Girl Scouts, los invito a participar en el Programa Red Ribbon Patch de la DEA. Al hacerlo, pueden ganar un parche para sus respectivos objetivos y al mismo tiempo contribuir activamente a una causa valiosa.
