Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo today issued the following response to Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ visit and the Trump Administration’s decision to sue the State of California over immigration laws:
“We are here to tell Attorney General Sessions’ that his senseless posturing and xenophobic remarks are not welcome in the state of California. The values of our state are very different from the divisive rhetoric of the White House, especially when it comes to the immigrant community and the undocumented population.
California is the resistance against an administration that attacks immigrants, women, communities of color, and communities of different faiths. We will continue to resist against a White House that is prejudiced against people who do not look like them.”
