(Sacramento) - Studies prove that lead paint can cause brain and kidney damage, infertility, and serious developmental and behavioral challenges in children. Millions of homes built in California before 1978 still contain toxic lead paint. That’s why Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) is fighting to eliminate lead paint in the Golden State. “A home should be a safe place to raise your family, not a toxic hazard,” says Assemblymember Carrillo. “As a member of the Assembly Health Committee, I am committed to ensuring that our homes are lead and poison-free, so that future generations of Californians can grow up in a safe and nurturing environment and reach their highest potential.” Watch this Assembly Access Video to learn more about what Assemblymember Carrillo is doing to protect families against lead paint.
